Our Cadia site is located in the Central West of New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional town of Orange and three hours' drive from Sydney. Employees reside in the varied accommodation options in Orange, with the surrounding winery and national park areas to enjoy.

Who we're looking for

We are currently seeking Surface Fixed Plant Maintenance Outage Technician - Logistics and Transport to join the Maintenance department at our Cadia mine. Reporting to the Cranes & Scaffolding Specialist, you will provide support to the fixed plant teams with logistics management of parts, hire gear and ancillary maintenance.

A few key deliverables include, but not limited to:
  • Provide full support to the outage and maintenance teams for all hire equipment
  • Ensure all plant and equipment faults are reported, documented, and managed for all hire equipment
  • Work with external suppliers in the management of hire equipment
  • Ensure all hire equipment meets Newcrest standards and is returned on time to ensure ongoing cost reduction improvements
  • Act as the key point of contact for personnel regarding enhancement projects in logistics, plumbing, building and transport areas
  • Develop traffic management plans in conjunction with area leads during outage to ensure people know alternate routes in the event of road closures

To be considered, applicants will ideally need the following skills:
  • Moderate computer skills (Microsoft Excel)
  • Knowledge to read and track Gantt charts (desirable)
  • Mining experience
  • Motivated and Organised
  • Behaviour consistent with Newcrest values
  • Forklift ticket (desirable)

You will possess a passion and drive to ensure high safety standards, be team oriented, as demonstrated by your excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Please note: This is a permanent fulltime role based in Orange, NSW. You will be required to work a 5D/2X roster.
