Who we're looking for
As our Principal HR Business Partner, you will provide leadership, specialist strategic advice and be accountable for the execution of the Newcrest People strategy for a Client Group - ensuring they have the right structure, people, training, capability and development to achieve their business strategy.
You will also provide specialist advice and support to employees and People Leaders, on the effective execution of people processes including performance, engagement, employee relations, talent, culture, diversity and inclusion, recruitment and reward.
This is a 2-year fixed term engagement.
Reporting to the Head of People & Employee Relations, the responsibilities of this role include:
HR Business Partnership (HRBP)
Employee Relations (ER)
Organisational Development and Effectiveness (OD&E)
Resourcing and Workforce Planning
Performance and Reward
About you
With tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline and demonstrated experience in an equivalent level role, you will have experience within a HR Generalist function having worked in a fast-paced complex environment. Solid experience in strategic business partnering with Executive Committee members and Senior Leaders and being able to deliver to high standards is critical to this role. You should be well practiced in influencing and engaging senior business stakeholders, building relationships, confident in putting forward recommendations and having difficult conversations. You will have high levels of integrity and discretion, a willingness to make things happen, and be able to drive and deliver outcomes on people and performance. With strong analytical skills and commercial awareness, you will have the capability to work autonomously, high levels of resilience and be able to problem solve to make sound decisions.

HR Business Partnership (HRBP)
- Design, manage and implement HRBP improvement initiatives
- Provide strategic HRBP advice and work with leaders to define the functional people plan
- Design, lead and deliver strategic and operational solutions
- Provide counsel on data, policies and frameworks available to support people related critical decisions
- Facilitate workforce planning and headcount budgeting ensuring alignment with organisational design
Employee Relations (ER)
- Facilitate the implementation of local employment standards
- Provide technical advice to People Leaders in the understanding of Employee Relations principles and legislations
- Coaches and advise People Leaders on the facilitation of disciplinary cases as required
Organisational Development and Effectiveness (OD&E)
- Work with People Leaders to deliver the talent cycle including performance management, talent reviews, succession plans, career development planning, and diversity and inclusion in collaboration with OD&E
- Advise and direct People Leaders on diagnostics to identify learning opportunities, high potential employees and candidates for organisation and leadership development
- Assist in the planning, executing, sponsoring and adopting of organisational design and cultural change initiatives
Resourcing and Workforce Planning
- Engages Strategic Sourcing and Workforce Planning on upcoming resourcing requirements and long-term resource inputs to the strategic resourcing plan
- Guide People Leaders on the development of position descriptions
- Grade new roles within Group guidelines
Performance and Reward
- Lead the annual reward cycle and provide advice and day to day support to the business on remuneration reviews, superannuation and benefits, incentives (including equity plans) and mobility services
- Provide context and process support about Performance and Reward to the business
- Support the business in the annual Performance management cycle, including objective setting and cascading, and interim and full- year assessments
