We are seeking a motivated and hardworking UG Mechanical Technician to assist in maintaining Cadia East Development and Production Fleets.

At Cadia you will play a part in the expansion of our Tier 1 operation developing Cadia into one of the largest, safest, most cost effective and technologically advanced block caving mines in the world. Currently we are undertaking stage three of Cadia's mine life strategy by further developing our underground mine to include its 3 rd panel, as well as increasing our ore handling and processing capability.

As a company we are highly skilled at identifying and turning large-scale deposits into Tier 1 assets with one of the lowest all-in sustaining costs in the mining industry. Our extensive experience in block caving, processing, utilising the latest technology and techniques positions us as a world leader in our field.

Who we're looking for

Safety focused UG Mechanical Technicians to assist in maintaining Cadia East Development and Production Fleets. This busy yet rewarding opportunity will see you perform preventative maintenance, breakdown maintenance and daily servicing on a wide variety of OEM equipment not limited to CAT, Epiroc, Sandvik, Elphinstone, Normet and Volvo.

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Understanding of work management practices for work generation and execution
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of fundamental maintenance techniques, processes and procedures to manage Cadia Valley Mobile Fleet
  • Be conversant with the current fleet in relation to maintenance requirements
  • Delivering high quality maintenance to ensure all equipment is delivered to our customers in a safe and reliable condition
  • Working closely with all fleet maintenance supervisors and colleagues to ensure clear task direction is achieved and any deviation from plan is understood
  • Exposure to modern maintenance techniques and computerised maintenance management systems
  • Capable of utilising mobile devices such as Apple iPad to document work
  • Demonstrated ability and knowledge to work safely and follow procedures

You will have:
  • Trade Qualification as a Heavy Vehicle Fitter or Light Vehicle Fitter
  • Proven experience in a similar role within heavy industry maintenance environment, preferably associated with mobile fleet
  • Demonstrated ability and knowledge to work safely and follow procedures
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously.
