We offer several designated marshalling points within BC including Nanaimo, Vancouver, Kelowna, Kamloops, Williams Lake, Prince George, Smithers, and Calgary, AB.

We are seeking an individual for a Fly In, Fly Out opportunity working on a two weeks in, two weeks out rotation.

Sample Preparation is responsible for safe, quality intake and preparation of samples for submission to the Assay Lab for data analysis and reporting. Tasks are related to process control and validation for mill and mine operations customers.

Accountabilities:
  • Strong commitment and adherence to all Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Follow all operational and quality control SOPs
  • Collection of samples
  • Sample intake and LIMS database registration
  • Sample staging, storage, and disposal
  • Drying, crushing, pulverizing, and splitting samples
  • Preparing daily mill and mine samples
  • Preparing basic metallurgy test samples
  • Basic analysis to include % moisture, screen fraction separation, etc.
  • Helping with waste and recycling management
  • Basic equipment maintenance
  • Housekeeping and cleaning
  • Any other assignments or projects assigned by the Assay Lab Supervisor

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in sample preparation
  • Demonstrate safe and healthy work practices.
  • Able to work 14 days work (day and night shift) with 14 days rest.
  • Wear appropriate PPE to include respiratory protection
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision once familiar with requirements
  • A team player that works well with others
  • Must have time management skills, strong attention to detail and work well under changing priorities
  • Competent in instrumentation including balances, ovens, crushers, and pulverisers
  • Computer skills including the use of instrument software, MS Office suite and LIMS in a professional environment would be an asset
  • Valid driver's licence required
  • Physically able and capable to work on feet for extended periods of time; Routinely lifting 5 to 10 kg and regularly 15 to 20 kg
