Cadia Valley Operations is located in Central Western New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional township of Orange and a convenient three hours from the capital city of Sydney. Who we're looking for

The Strategic Purchasing Analyst will Implement and maintain Newcrest sourcing procedures and support model in line with direction. With a specific focus on Purchase Requisitions not linked to contracts, free text material purchases, and non-compliances to Newcrest's Delegation of Authority (DoA) and Procurement Standard.

In addition, you will proactively engage with the Newcrest supply base to lead the negotiations and sourcing of components, materials and services with improved pricing and terms on a total cost of ownership (TCO) basis procured in consultation with key site stakeholders.



Other responsibilities include:
  • Promoting and governing adherence to Newcrest's DoA and Procurement Standard.
  • Leading and supporting efforts to uplift PO Automation and reduce free text purchasing.
  • Leading and supporting root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Providing training and awareness to internal stakeholders and suppliers on transactional best practice.
  • Daily monitoring of Cadia's Purchasing queue to identify opportunities that could benefit from additional price negotiation or consolidation to existing contracts.
  • Identify and reduce value leakage from existing contracts.
  • Assess opportunities to convert off-contract purchases to contract to generate transactional efficiencies.


The ideal candidate will develop and maintain strong relationships with site supply and operational teams to identify opportunities to negotiate improved strategic purchasing outcomes.

You will also possess the following:
  • Demonstrated purchasing and SAP ERP P2P - Purchase to Pay - experience.
  • Extensive experience with Contract Management Systems (CMS) and ERP integrations.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Robust stakeholder management skills and experience.
  • Proficient in the MS Office Suite of products, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project.
