About this role

What will you be responsible for?
The Manager Treasury position purpose is to manage the Company's US and Canadian pension investments, execute the Company's Debt and Capital Markets analysis, global hedge programs, and debt compliance reporting. This position will report to the Director Treasury and support the goals of the Treasury team. This individual will mentor and develop an analyst on the team, and will serve as the subject matter specialist for capital markets and pension investment for the organization.

In this role you will

Here is a snapshot of what your day to day will look like:
Financial Analysis and Capital Markets
  • We complete financial analysis in support of the organization's Capital Allocation Strategy (stock buy back, dividend strategy, debt strategy, cash on hand)
  • We serve as a subject matter specialist in capital markets including debt and equity
  • Complete company level debt compliance and reporting
  • Ad hoc financial modeling related to liability and equity management exercises
  • We review of preparation of payment requests for debt related activity

Financial Risk Management - Hedging and Derivatives
  • Execute current and future FX and commodity hedge programs in line with company standards and operating procedures
  • Perform mark to market and efficiency testing calculations, explain variances
  • Assist in design and implementation of future hedge programs as needed
  • Coordinate administrative efforts for hedge trades, confirmations and settlements
  • Complete Quarterly Hedge Committee reporting materials preparation

Reporting
  • Provide material that is executive ready for preparation of the Board of Directors' and Audit Committee reporting for the function, with an emphasis on pension and capital markets materials
  • Complete Fixed income investor and rating agency presentations
  • Analyze and compile the Quarterly Treasury Report summarizing all activity and metrics for the team

Compliance & Departmental Responsibilities
  • Stay in sync with ISDA requirements for hedging purposes, keeping renewals up to date
  • Maintain Legal Entity Identifier database for business continuity
  • Manage SOX reporting activities as the need arises
  • Complete ad-hoc analysis for the business planning team

Pension
  • Execute the pension investment strategy for the $1B + pension assets ensuring objectives of pension investments are in line with investment charters for each plan (US and Canada)
  • Facilitate the external relationship with the pension investment advisory firm, Cook Street, and pension Investment fund firm, Russell Investments
  • Coordinate the quarterly pension meetings ensuring that the investment standards are addressed
  • Provide data as vital to the external pension service providers
  • Coordinate with HR on pension matters, including special campaigns or changes related to the pension schemes

Here is what we would need to see from you!
Experience:
  • BS degree in Finance, Accounting or similar field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years working experience in treasury or related field.
  • Experience working in mining or similar industry preferred
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets for statistical analysis and commercial evaluations.
  • Strong Microsoft PowerPoint skills

Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of mining operations and sales products required
  • Knowledge of capital markets, pension, and hedging required
  • Excellent executive presentation skills required
  • Experience with hedging and trading OTC derivatives
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Experience working in a fast pace and constantly evolving environment
  • Management experience required

Where you will be located!
  • The position is located at the Corporate office in Denver, CO
  • Position may be required to travel both domestically and internationally
  • Position may be required to work overtime and/or weekends


The salary range offered for this role is $ 98,400-129,150 . The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company's performance and their own individual performance.
