Join the innovative team deploying and managing Newmont Boddington Gold Operation's Autonomous Haulage System (AHS) - the world's First Open Pit Gold AHS operation.

Delivery of the fleet has commenced and trials in the Autonomous Operating Zone are scheduled for Q1, 2021.

As a Production Scheduler in this 12 month fixed term opportunity, you will be providing technical and scheduling support to Mining Operatationsto ensure we continue to safely achieve operational targets whilst implementing and deploying Autonomous Haulage.

Key Accountabilities
  • Ensure mine operational and planning teams are aligned and focused on delivering mining plans safely and efficiently.
  • Demonstrating behaviors in line with Newmont's values, and health, safety, social and environmental policies and standards.
  • Liaise with internal customers and stakeholders across the operation.
  • Identify and address risks that may impact or are impacting the business plan.
  • Utilising the appropriate tools to ensure processes and systems are effective across all areas of open pit operations.
  • Engage with the engineering team to track and forecast mine development activities.
  • Assist in compliance with operation budget and forecasts and highlight any variance to management.
  • Identifying, and where relevant undertake and lead continuous improvement projects to increase mining operations functions.


About you

You will hold a Diploma in Metalliferous Mining or similar, together with previous leadership experience in a high tonnage open pit mining operation. An understanding of mine planning and technical functions is required, coupled with excellent communication skills and a proven ability to persuade, involve and gain the cooperation and consensus of a diverse group of stakeholders.

Your knowledge of statutory regulations, advanced PC skills and computer literacy including experience with mining software products (Minestar and Command), and prior operational experience within an autonomous operation will be highly regarded.
