Perform installation and repair of electrical fixtures, wiring, electrical controls, and miscellaneous electrically operated equipment. Apply acceptable practices in the field and follow all applicable codes.
- Electrical wiring (repair/replacement).
- Troubleshoot mills & underground equipment.
- Pull wire.
- Install starters.
- Troubleshoot MCC issues.
- Help with U/G issues.
- Instrumentation & other duties as assigned.

Hand and power tools, test equipment, laptop and desktop computers associated with a skilled trade.

Working a 21 day on/21 day off rotating schedule of days and nights, up to 12 hours a day or more at a remote campsite. Extreme temperatures and humidity are encountered frequently in mechanical rooms, electrical rooms, pipe chases, ceiling spaces, etc., in the completion of outdoor assignments during cold weather. Work from ladders, man lifts, in tight spaces, in ceiling spaces, and with heavy equipment is required. Some trade areas within this job description may require the use of a respirator. Such trade areas may require sufficient pulmonary and respiratory health to use a respirator and may preclude full beards or other obstructions preventing a positive facial fit for half-face or full-face respirators.

  • A Covid Vaccine is required as a condition of employment for all employees hired on or after July 12, 2021.
    • Either one round of Pfizer or Moderna, or the J&J COVID-19 Vaccine is required prior to beginning work for Northern Star (Pogo) LLC. If Pfizer or Moderna, the second vaccine shot will then be needed as scheduled to complete the requirement.
    • Requests for exceptions to this requirement, for reasons such as a candidate's religious beliefs or disability status, will be considered on a case by case basis and determined by the general manager.



EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED required. The equivalent and successful completion of a vocational technical school or recognized apprenticeship training program in the desired trade preferred.

CERTIFICATES & LICENCES: Electrician license preferred. Valid driver's license is required.

EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years experience in the electrician trade preferred. Experience with NEC code, MSHA regulations, high, medium, & low volt equipment, & instrumentation experience with flow management, pH analyzers, level control & various PC instrumentation.

SKILLS: Should have critical thinking, troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Strong planning and organizational skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills to satisfy training, safety, and electronic message transmission policies of the company. Experience utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) such as J.D. Edwards is preferred.

ABILITIES: Must be able to read, understand, and evaluate blueprints, specifications, operating and maintenance manuals and transfer that knowledge to field repairs; must have the ability to make decisions, use safe procedures, work under adverse environmental conditions, plan, layout, and complete complex assignments; must have the ability to operate a wide variety of hand and power tools, equipment and diagnostic equipment and be able to perform heavy lifting (at least 70 pounds). Ability to work in a team with a high regard for Quality and Environmental concerns and with a strong commitment to Safety and Safe Production

KNOWLEDGE: Must possess knowledge of current craft techniques, working knowledge of pertinent building and fire codes, computers and programs associated with the craft, basic math and algebra. Prefer good general working knowledge of building and trades work in other fields in order to work in crafts outside field of expertise, assisting fellow employees from time to time.

OTHER: Must pass a post offer physical and drug test, as well as background check.
