We currently have an exciting opportunity at our Pogo operation for an experienced and motivated Engineering Superintendent in our Mine Engineering Department on a 4 days on, 3 days off work schedule.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Engineering Superintendent reports to the Mining Manager, and the primary role is accountability for the safe, reliable and cost-effective operation of all mine infrastructure as well as the safe, on-time and on-budget delivery of mine infrastructure projects. The incumbent will need to maintain a detailed working knowledge of life of mine plans to ensure provision of reliable high-voltage power supply, communications infrastructure, dewatering infrastructure utilities and paste fill reticulation as the mine expands.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Minimum 10 years post-graduate experience in working in technical engineering roles with a progressive increase in responsibility in a heavy industrial or construction setting.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in project management, with demonstrated experience in safely delivering projects in accordance with scope of work, specification, schedule and budget constraints. PMP Certification preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferable, or Mining Engineering with a strong construction and project management background
  • Exposure to preparing, tendering, awarding and administering construction contracts
  • Supervisory experience over a team of engineers preferred
  • Manage all phases of mine infrastructure projects, from conception and initiation, planning, execution, performance/monitoring, and project close.
  • Maintain proactive engagement with key stakeholders for the purpose of ensuring mine infrastructure is adequately supporting the current and near-term mining effort.
  • Ensure PM Programs are established and implemented for all mine infrastructure.
  • Mentor and train project Engineers
  • Strong planning, organizational and critical thinking skills.

WORK SCHEDULE & ENVIRONMENT

Working a rotating schedule, up to 12 hours a day or more at a remote campsite. Extreme conditions, including but not limited to extreme and changing weather conditions, dust, mud, varying levels of noise, varying degrees of light and dark, in and around artificial light and in a confined work area.

Employees are required to stay on site at the company provided camp during the work rotation. Camp facilities provide dining service, games room, exercise & weight room, sauna, and accommodation rooms. Dormitory rooms have a land line phone, internet & cable tv programs. Cell service is available when using Wi-Fi. The Company provides a bus service to and from Fairbanks, Delta Junction and Tok, Alaska
