Since acquiring these operations, Northern Star has been able to significantly extend the mine life and grow the resource base of all of our mines by investing heavily in near-mine and in-mine exploration.

We currently have an opportunity for a Filter Press Millwright to join our Pogo operation working a schedule of 28 days on, 14 days off.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair fixed plant equipment such as SAG/Ball mills, conveyors, compressors, hydraulic systems, pressure filters, pumps, and piping systems. Plan, lay-out, weld, install & repair all types of structural steel parts, components & equipment. Ensure welding is in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, & industry standards. Responsible for proper fit up of welding materials, & priming/painting all welded materials. Responsible for maintenance and repair of welding materials, tools, & cutting equipment. Responsible for all tasks related to preventative maintenance program such as reporting fluid leaks, performing lube work, taking fluid samples, inspecting components and parts for proper operation, damage or wear. Responsible for gathering technical information to perform the job. Troubleshoots, diagnoses, modifies, fabricates and repairs mobile and stationary equipment in the Mill per supervisor direction. Prepares computer generated work orders, changes out parts and follows procedures to pick up parts and supplies from the warehouse. Performs equipment walk around, inspects and operates equipment, properly disposes of wastes.
Repair and replace components and parts as needed.

WORK SCHEDULE & ENVIRONMENT
Working a 28 day on, 14 day off rotating schedule of days and nights, up to 12 hours a day or more at a remote campsite. Extreme conditions, including but not limited to changing weather conditions, dust, mud, varying levels of noise from low to high decibels, varying degrees of light and dark, in and around artificial light and in a confined work area.

Employees are required to stay on site at the company provided camp during the work rotation. Camp facilities provide dining service, games room, exercise & weight room, sauna, and accommodation rooms. Dormitory rooms have a land line phone, internet & cable tv programs. Cell service is available when using Wi-Fi. The Company provides a bus service to and from Fairbanks, Delta Junction and Tok, Alaska.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED preferred. Employee must have sufficient education to read and write instructions, perform simple mathematical calculations, and keep records.
CERTIFICATES, & LICENCES: Structural Welder certificate is required. Driver's license is required. MSHA certificate preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Five years' experience in maintaining and repairing fixed plant equipment preferred. Prefer experience with SAG/Ball mills and slurry pumps. Three years' experience with welding components according to specific process & code. Experience reading/understanding load charts, plans, diagrams, and sketches.
SKILLS: Skill in clamping, holding, tack-welding, heat-bending, bolting, or grinding to satisfy the technical requirements and create a welded final product. Should have critical thinking, troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Strong planning and organizational skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills to satisfy training, safety, and electronic message transmission policies of the company. Experience utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) such as J.D. Edwards is preferred.
ABILITIES: Ability weld parts in various directions: flat, horizontal, vertical or overhead. Ability to use hand and trade type tools to measure, cut assemble, weld, & install all types of structural steel components; Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision, ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities. Ability to assume increasing levels of responsibility. Proven ability to read, comprehend, and apply information from technical manuals and other reference materials. Ability to work in a team with a high regard for Quality and Environmental concerns and with a strong commitment to Safety and Safe Production.

OTHER: Must pass a post offer physical and drug test, as well as background check.
