We currently have an exciting opportunity at our Pogo operation for an experienced and motivated Process Control Engineer/Technician on a 15 days on, 13 days off work schedule.

The DCS (Distributed Control System) Technician works with automated process control systems, consulting with maintenance and operations to identify opportunities to improve the efficiencies and effectiveness of various plant processes. They are also tasked with maintaining existing control systems and making upgrades when necessary, and they typically work closely with management, technicians, electricians and production personnel.


  • Minimum 5 years process control experience with Delta V DCS, Allen Bradley PLCs and controls in a mineral processing environment, including programming and troubleshooting.
  • Qualification in Metallurgical Engineering, Electrical & Instrumentation or similar.
  • A background in electrical / instrumentation will be highly regarded.
  • Ability to take ownership of technical hardware and software issues related to process control and automation systems, including PLC's, monitoring, data historian, communication networks and HMI's.
  • Expert in process control and PLC with analytical and trouble shooting skills to assist operations, maintenance and technical personnel to identify and resolve production issues.
  • Communications experience with Ethernet, Serial communications standards, DeviceNet, MODbus and other RS232 based communications
  • Experience in support and maintenance of user account information including rights, security and systems groups and other DeltaV system administration.
  • Capable of configuration of network related equipment such as layer III switches, routers, and communications backbone hardware
  • PC administration skills with virtual servers and thin client networks.
  • Extensive experience in PI Server administration and troubleshooting.
  • Strong planning, organizational and critical thinking skills.


Working a rotating schedule, up to 12 hours a day or more at a remote campsite. Extreme conditions, including but not limited to extreme and changing weather conditions, dust, mud, varying levels of noise, varying degrees of light and dark, in and around artificial light and in a confined work area.

Employees are required to stay on site at the company provided camp during the work rotation. Camp facilities provide dining service, games room, exercise & weight room, sauna, and accommodation rooms. Dormitory rooms have a land line phone, internet & cable tv programs. Cell service is available when using Wi-Fi. The Company provides a bus service to and from Fairbanks, Delta Junction and Tok, Alaska
