The Nuna Group of Companies is now accepting resumes for a Maintenance Foreperson with large earthworks construction projects experience.

This position is located on our project site located near Timmins /Gogama Ontario (Northern Ontario)

The Maintenance Foreperson coordinates site maintenance activities and supervises field personnel as required to successfully complete the project on schedule and within budget. This includes ensuring that established company goals are realized within established quality standards while supervising trade and field personnel and administering good construction and maintenance safety practices with on-site activities. In addition, the Maintenance Foreperson will help maintain client relationships to enhance future business

Job Duties:

  • Effectively plans and supervises crews on a task basis.
  • Supervises stationary equipment and mechanical maintenance activities;
  • Monitors crews' productivity to optimize results;
  • Arranges mobile equipment maintenance and servicing;
  • Ensures that work orders and repairs are carried out on site
  • Conducts regular inspections, maintenance and cleaning of mechanical equipment and installations
  • equipment;
  • Ensures that the necessary parts are ordered to keep equipment in good repair;
  • Assists with the coordination of the maintenance, construction, and repair of roads.
  • Monitors project and provides recommendations to ensure that project, budget, and schedule are achievable.
  • Anticipates issues and implements solutions before problems occur.
  • Effectively manages sub-contractors, ensuring compliance with sub-contract requirements.
  • Ensure that Client's concerns are immediately addressed or brought to the attention of senior Company management.
  • Holds subordinates accountable through Performance Management;
  • Identifies and develops future leadership candidates;

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in similar role within the construction industry;
  • Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic;
  • Demonstrates strong planning knowledge and skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of appropriate computer software (Prolog, Excel, and Microsoft Office etc.).
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of mining/construction sector.
All successful candidates must:
  1. Be proficient in English, both verbally and written.
  2. Have a valid Class 5 Driver's License.
  3. Eligible to work for any employer in Canada.
  4. Resides within Canada.
  5. Have experience as requested in the job description above.
