The Electrical Superintendent will have oversight of the E&I and underground electrical maintenance team to keep our production going and our profitability up. You will be called upon to work cooperatively with others as part of a team, and encourage collaboration, trust, and openness among employees.


•Training first. Every hire is provided MSHA training in the first 4 days on the job. We also provide department-level training on not just what to do, but safety, as well.

•You will provide electrical services to the site in project investigation, design, and implementation to ensure the ongoing electrical development and improvement of plant infrastructure.

•You will supervise or may serve as a technical expert in the design of small/simple to large/complex construction, expansion or modification electrical/instrumentation projects using sound data measurement & collection, calculations, analysis, interpretation and problem solving.

•You will analyze daily, weekly, monthly and annual maintenance reports to ensure electrical is operating within overall budget expectations, develop capital and operating budgets, and prepare reports and budgets that summarize and forecast electrical activity.

•You will develop the electrical plans and establish procedures for maintaining high standards to ensure that activities conform to established company standards. You will establish policies for inspection, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment; assign and direct activities of service and repair personnel indirectly through electrical supervisors; and follow up on work and repairs being made.

•Safety is important. You will be accountable to ensure safe and environmentally sound practices are embedded in the culture.

Education Requirements

•A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is preferable

•Holds a valid Administrators/Masters License for Alaska is preferable

•Supervision/Operations experience in heavy industrial, manufacturing, mining environments minimum 5 years' experience

•Demonstrated leadership experience team-based environment

•Strong Knowledge in electricity and instrumentation

•Experience with controls systems (PLC, HMI, Drives, and SCADA systems)

•Ability to work towards continuous improvement and team performance

•Experience with cost estimating for electrical and instrumentation (control systems) projects, project scheduling and project controls

•Experience in Arc Flash analysis and mitigation
