About the role

Take the next step in your mobile maintenance career as a specialist Digger Fitter within the East Pilbara Shut Team (MEM) based at West Angelas.

This role is responsible for safely completing scheduled maintenance of our extensive Hitachi and Komatsu excavator fleet during our shutdowns.

Working 14 days on, 7 days off (7Days,7Nights,7Off.), on a fly in-fly out rotational roster, roaming between three of the East Pilbara Mines and reporting to the Shut Maintenance Supervisor, you will:
  • Maintain a high level of safety awareness and comply with all RTIO Company Policies and procedures
  • Conduct routine inspections of the digger fleet and determine repair action when required
  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement projects increasing safety whilst reducing risk & cost
  • Utilise SAP to ensure that maintenance tasks are recorded, assigned correctly and completed to the relevant standard / specification

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
  • Certificate III in engineering mechanical trade or of Heavy-Duty Fitter Trade qualification
  • Extensive experience in Hitachi equipment is essential
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Hitachi and Komatsu diggers (Advantage)
  • Excellent diagnostic fault-finding abilities
  • Good understanding of SAP maintenance systems or similar highly regarded
  • A Manual C Class Australian Drivers Licence essential
  • Ability to work Independently, and in small team when required demonstrating flexibility to business requirements
  • Extensive post trade experience with leading hand or supervisor experience

It will also be beneficial if you have:
  • High Risk Licences Elevated Work Platform, Rigging or Dogging, Forklift, Confined Space, Working at Heights
  • HR Drivers Licence highly desirable
  • Cert IV Trainer & Assessor desirable

Where you will be working

While based at West Angelas which is 110km west of Newman, you will be roaming between three of East Pilbara Mine Sites. West Angelas operates on a fly in fly out roster from Perth. Operational since 2002, it was the first site to be incorporated into our Mine of the Futureā„¢ programme, trialling autonomous trucks and drills that are now fully embedded into the operations. An expansion to the accommodation village, gym and recreational facilities on site offer exceptional living.
