About the role

The Database Analyst will deliver and administer quality geoscientific data repositories and information management systems for the Jadar Project; to provide specialist advice current systems, data and information management and related practices, issues, and customs to assist in the development and implementation of regional and global Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) and Data and Information Management strategies, projects, policies, practices and initiatives.

Reporting to the Senior Project Geologist, the Data Analyst:

· Develops and implements fit-for-purpose geoscientific systems and data management solutions

· Manages these over time to ensure solutions are sustainable and responsive to changing needs

· Have fundamental administrative skills and software tools needed to manage the acQuire 4 components of the GIM Suite.

· Create and modify data collection and importing tools in the acQuire 4 components of the GIM Suite, in order to improve data integrity at the point of capture.

· Create and modify import workflows for analytical results received from the laboratory, in order to ensure that your GIM Suite is the single source of truth across teams.

· Create and use the reporting tools in the acQuire 4 components of the GIM Suite, in order to view and share customized summaries of your data for making rapid business decisions

· Create and use the QAQC tools in GIM Suite in order to quality-control analytical results received from a laboratory

· Works with Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) to provide complete, accurate and legally compliant information packages

· Maintains a current knowledge of technical system advancements and data and information management practices that have the potential to improve effectiveness

· Makes recommendations about their potential adoption, identifying both regional and global implications

· Engages with, and supports staff to understand business requirements

· Ensures systems, services and content provided are relevant and timely

· Identifies and actions improvement opportunities

· Provides guidance on using systems, managing information and accessing data

· Provides technical leadership to less experienced staff, or a team of professionals, including day to day oversight, tasks allocation and prioritization, on-the-job training, assistance in solving more complex problems, and quality review of work

· Maintains close communication and shares best practice with technical systems and data and information management peers

· Ensures the most efficient use of common system

· Identifies potential areas of efficiency and effectiveness in the development and delivery of data and information management services

· Makes recommendations for improvement

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

• University diploma in Geology or relevant field
• Experience in using Acquire
• Extensive experience with databases
• Ability to upskill quickly with new technology
• Language requirements: working proficiency in English and Serbian

Where you will be working

The Jadar project is a greenfield Underground mine and process plant development located approximately 40km south-east of Loznica, Serbia. An underground mine, comprising of a production shaft, exhaust shaft, development levels, access to production stopes, mobile mining equipment and associated infrastructure. The process plant is designed to produce boric acid, lithium carbonate and sodium sulfate.

Jadar project commenced the feasibility study in Aug 2020. The project business strategy is to develop Jadar as a core, Tier 1 asset with synergies with Rio Tinto Business, enabling a green future and creating value for both Rio Tinto and Serbia. The project execution goal is to derive maximum value from Jadar for its stakeholders, while also delivering on the promised outcomes.
