About the role

We have an excellent opportunity for an Asset Management Specialist to join our Asset Management Process Assurance team in Perth.

Within the Asset Management and Engineering Services (AMES) division, our AM Process Assurance team provides governance and assurance of core AM processes across Rio Tinto Iron Ore (RTIO) mines, rail and ports and influences strategic priorities for AM improvement and capability development. The team also verifies the effectiveness of controls to optimise asset performance and minimise asset risk. Partnering with operations the team works to build networks that enable continuous improvement.

Reporting to the Principal Asset Risk and Assurance, you will:
  • Lead the implementation of the first line asset management Assurance program
  • Support the deployment of the asset integrity assessment process and critical risk assessment process
  • Promote a consistent, consolidated outlook on asset management process gaps and risk across RTIO
  • Use your operational knowledge to develop and apply continuous improvement of the RTIO Assurance program

About you

With tertiary qualifications in engineering or a relevant field, you will have a knowledge of asset management processes and framework and asset assurance principals. Analytically minded, you will have the ability to review current processes and provide valuable insight and recommendations for improved performance. Prior experience in the leading programs of work with multiple stakeholders will also be required.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills will allow you to work collaboratively with various internal and external partners and you will be excited by the opportunity to work with a diverse and extensive organisational group. Demonstrable experience in life cycle asset management principals will enable you to convert technical knowledge into practical instruction. Strong computer skills, in particular Microsoft applications such as PowerPoint, excel, word, project and Visio will be required, and exposure to other software such as PowerBI, RSA Archer will be well regarded.

This position is based at our Perth Operations Centre near the domestic airport, with regular travel to the iron ore operations in the Pilbara and the Perth CBD.
