This includes the way we engage with communities and the steps we take to identify and manage social, economic, environmental, cultural, and human rights impacts throughout the life cycle of our projects, from exploration, to project development, to operation and closure.

About the role

Our Communities and Social Performance Area of Expertise (AoE) is Rio Tinto's Technical CSP function. It provides support to the business to build respectful and trusted relationships with host communities that deliver sustainable improvements in social and economic outcomes. The AoE works with CSP practitioners and leaders across the business to build capability, support social performance delivery, monitor and respond to emerging trends, and provide assurance and risk management. The AoE also maintains Rio Tinto's management systems, CSP standards and reporting process.

We are looking for a Principal Advisor CSP Technical Capability to join the CSP Capacity and Capability stream within the AoE. The team oversees, develops and ensures CSP practitioner competency , training and resourcing along with business and operational leader training, including awareness of CSP standards and integration of CSP into Rio Tinto's Values and The way we work.

Reporting to the Manager CSP Health and working in an exciting environment within the CSP AoE, you will:
  • Lead the development of materials and deliver skills uplift program for CSP practitioners
  • Liaise with external partners to support the development of materials and ensure that Rio Tinto owns and can deliver materials moving forwards
  • Work with internal partners to ensure efficient delivery of CSP into broader training programs
  • Manage and maintain training calendar ensuring logistics and participation is effective
  • Support in analysis of CSP Health
  • Provide support to the Manager - CSP Health on written communications


What you'll bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Tertiary qualifications in related discipline
  • Demonstrated expertise in CSP, including diverse and complex cultural and community challenges
  • Previous experience in the facilitation of workshops and program delivery
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and working through a networked organisation in achieving results
  • Effective influencing skills when engaging with senior leaders internally and externally
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated proficiency across a wide variety of audiences and constituencies
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise and organise a number of concurrent projects under tight time pressure
  • Further qualifications and/or exposure to adult learning practices is desirable
