About the role

We are looking for a Site-Support & Network Administrator who is responsible for providing ongoing operations and maintenance support to corporate network environment, process control network, security solutions and general site support activities across Resolution Copper regional site consisting of multiple Data Center Locations and many network devices and locations.

This role is a great opportunity to be involved in a worldwide corporate IS&T organization, interfacing with colleagues around the globe while working on a world-class copper mine project

This role will be based onsite at the Resolution Copper mine in Superior Arizona, reporting to the Superintendent IT Operations Resolution Copper, and you will be:
  • Providing general remote and desktop site support services to all Resolution Copper personnel
  • Maintaining computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, license servers, applications software hardware and configurations
  • Interface / liaise with Electrical team for Process Control network support
  • Working with global Rio Tinto IS&T Hub(s) for corporate alignment and global initiatives all things related to networking and Cyber Security
  • Overseeing local organization's network health and data
  • Delivering service & support to the ongoing operations at Resolution Copper, consisting of but not limited to Virtual and Physical server environment, all network technologies and all storage and backup systems
  • Developing and reporting through sustainable dashboards on trends and anticipated risks in cooperation with Global hub teams and Areas of Excellence
  • Executing all field operations in a safe manner
  • Facilitating the access to the data / tools
  • Suggesting, prioritizing and identifying improvements around support of operational environments
  • Participate in On-Call rotation schedule

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in IT or related degree or 3 to 4 years of relevant experience
  • Advanced knowledge of CISCO Network equipment, servers, hosting and storage technologies and support
  • Networking technologies and support Change and Release practices for infrastructure delivery and support
  • Successful track record in monitoring customer service levels and analyzing information, spotting trends, identifying gaps

It will also be beneficial if you have:
  • Knowledge of Annual MSHA Safety Training

Where you will be working

Resolution Copper has the potential to supply nearly 25% of the US copper demand and create several thousand direct and indirect jobs in the Pioneer Mining District of Arizona, with an economic value of several billion dollars over the estimated mine life.

The project will rely on a technique called block caving to extract the deposit that lies more than 2,000 metres deep. This technique uses gravity to help remove the ore and is the most viable way to recover the resource.

In 2019, the project achieved a significant milestone the release of the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) by the US Forest Service (USFS). In anticipation of the Final EIS in 2020, Resolution Copper will continue underground development, conduct extensive drilling and orebody testing, plus maintain the permitting and public engagement process.
