We are looking for an Electrical Maintainer to join our Electrical maintenance team, a division of the Rio Tinto Weipa Electrical Workshop. This is a permanent position and the successful applicant will be required to relocate to Weipa on a full-time basis. We are currently only considering applicants based in the QLD region.

This role is a great opportunity to perform electrical tasks that align with our preventative maintenance and safety strategies, as well as deliver timely breakdown services to all our internal and external clients.

Reporting to the Electrical Services Supervisor and working a 12hr Dayshift 4,5,5 roster, you will be:
  • Carrying out Electrical Maintenance work as required through Planned Maintenance execution or breakdown maintenance;
  • Mentoring apprentices with both work experience and safety;
  • Fault finding and maintaining low voltage apparatuses;
  • Supporting Amrun roster where needed including staying there when required;
  • After hours callouts as per callout roster;
  • Demonstrating a strong commitment to safety in order to achieve a workplace target of zero injuries and incidents.

What you'll bring
  • A current QLD Electrical Fitter/Mechanic Licence
  • A manual C class driver's licence
  • Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft word and excel
  • Experience with SAP or similar work management system
  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
