We are currently looking for a Process Control Engineer to support and enhance a range of process control systems and applications in our aluminium casting facilities, based at our NZ Smelting Operation at Tiwai Point.

This is great opportunity for a detailed focused and highly motivated individual, contributing towards continuous improvement processes in the way that we operate. Working Monday to Friday and reporting to the Process Improvement Superintendent your focus will be on working to optimise process control strategy by controlling input and response parameters, monitoring key measures, troubleshooting, working with, and coaching our production teams. You will be passionate about continuous improvement, capable of managing projects to successful outcomes and delivering the best results for NZAS.

What you'll bring
  • A high commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Metallurgy, Science or Mathematics or similar; or relevant experience in a technically focused industrial Process Control role;
  • Proven ability to analyse data using statistical tools to identify changes in the process;
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to quickly create and maintain good working relationships at all levels;
  • Competency in planning and managing development projects;
  • Self-motivation and be keen to progress your career;
  • Basic SCADA and PLC understanding would be beneficial
  • Six Sigma qualifications are also desirable
