About the role

We are looking for an Advisor, Data & Reporting to compile reports and data used by the senior leadership team, with the view to streamline and automate these, and assist with implementing a data stewardship model across the Pacific Operations value chain of Bauxite mines, Alumina refineries and Aluminium smelters.

This role will drive a step change in accessibility, reporting and governance of data, to enable integration and innovation projects, and optimise decision making to drive safe and productive operations.

This is a great opportunity to draw on your technical capability and passion for data and reporting, to drive business improvements in a structured and organized manner, through effective stakeholder engagement and delivery on schedule. While the role is initially a fixed term, 6 month opportunity, there is potential for extension or conversion to a permanent role.

Reporting to the Specialist, Data & Reporting and working within the Integrated Operations team, you will be:
  • Undertaking reporting requirements for the Integrated Operations team, such as compiling / producing weekly meeting slides, month-end reporting duties etc. with the goal to simplify and automate these as much as possible
  • Contributing to redesigning and streamlining various reports used by the senior leadership team
  • Assisting with ad hoc reporting or data analysis requirements as needed
  • Working with the Operational Data Platform (ODP) team or other IS&T / data teams to scope, develop and automate required data flows, reports and dashboards
  • Assisting with the development of a data stewardship model

What you will bring

  • Experience with PowerBI, Excel and other data analysis and visualisation tools
  • Experience with creating data flows from source systems or data platforms
  • Passion for data & metrics, and the ability to simplify complex information in a way that is easy to interpret across various levels of the business, to allow data-driven decision making
  • Ability to scope user requirements for reports and visualization and develop, or translate their needs into prototypes for ODP or other IS&T teams to develop / execute
  • Demonstrated experience implementing similar projects within a complex supply chain (you may be asked to supply examples as part of the interview process)
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with a variety of stakeholders, from technical professionals to senior management
  • Experience with or at a minimum, understanding of the fundamentals of a data stewardship / data governance framework
  • Passion for implementing pragmatic, practical and sustainable processes and solutions

It will also be beneficial if you have:
  • Experience working in bauxite, refineries and / or smelters
  • Business Improvement qualification or skills
  • Commercial / finance experience
