About the role

The Studies Senior Advisor Planning/Scheduling position will primarily support our Studies team in development and maintenance of large integrated capital studies. The candidate will be responsible for study schedule development, monitoring, controlling and stage gate approval activities during each study phase (OoM, PFS & FS). Schedule will be developed in accordance with Rio Tinto Project Management Plus guidance and RTK Plant Project Framework.
The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive understanding and application of project processes and Project Controls practices; which includes principals of planning, scheduling, risk/change management, and performance measurement.

In this role, you will be contributing through applying technical/professional knowledge to solve complex problems and recommend solutions. Occasionally contributes to process improvements. Works independently and receives minimal guidance. Provides informal guidance to less experienced staff.

Key Accountabilities
  • Creates, maintains and report on the project plan and schedule.
  • Participates and/or conduct project schedule review meetings and update schedules.
  • Maintains the integrity of integrated project schedules.
  • Supports development of weekly/monthly schedule reports, including proper analysis.
  • Leads schedule development and monitoring for assigned areas.
  • Collaborate with project team to ensure that schedules are in alignment with project plans
  • Analyze and challenge constructability of the plan and schedule
  • Identifies improvement opportunities for streamlining work process.
  • Supports compliance with standardized processes, systems and tools.
  • Integrate Contractor, Constructor and Vendor schedules into a master schedule
  • Maintains the relationship with contracting and other project planning stakeholders.
  • Maintains relationships with the cost engineering and estimating groups to ensure that implications of changes are well articulated.
  • Proactively analyses and report implications of changes to plan and schedule.
  • Provide technical support to project stakeholders.


What you'll bring

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
  • Minimum of 7+ years experience in project planning and scheduling.
  • Experience in capital project planning/scheduling in an industrial environment.
  • Experience in project planning/scheduling in an industrial and/or construction environment.
  • Demonstrated success and comprehensive knowledge and experience with P6 Primavera Scheduling Software.
  • Experience with integrating contractor schedules into a master project schedule
    Ability to apply project scheduling practices to a variety of projects across disciplines.
