We are looking for a Project Data Scientist to support a small technical team focusing on challenging and exciting analytics problems to make a positive impact to the business. This is a great opportunity to get involved with our data systems to develop and support state-of-the-art data science solutions for our business's data and automation problems.

Reporting to the Specialist Geoscientist Data & Automation you will:
  • Provide the highest quality data report, analysis and insights to various data sources
  • Liaise with stakeholders including geoscientists, field operations, hydrogeologists, planners etc. to identify business improvement and value driven opportunities
  • Apply advanced computer programming skills to deliver high quality data and automation solutions
  • Stay abreast of new technologies and best practices in in data science and data management to enhance the business performance
  • Support advanced analytics projects delivered by internal and/or external project teams
  • Employ advanced statistical methods and artificial intelligence (machine learning, deep learning) to advance geological and OBK understanding

What you'll bring
  • A bachelor or higher degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or related coupled with practical experience within your field of qualification
  • Experience with designing and deploying technical solutions, which deliver tangible, ongoing value
  • Experience writing high-quality Python code with knowledge and experience of Numpy, Scipy, Pandas and Matplotlib
  • General knowledge of and experience with relational databases and data modelling. Experience with SQL databases is required
  • A willingness to learn new technologies on the job

It will also be beneficial if you have:
  • Familiarity with other programming languages: C#, JavaScript etc.
  • Experience in: Microsoft Power Platform Suites, Cloud computing (AWS or Azure), AI & machine learning frameworks and tools, web development, DevOps
  • Experience working in a mining and resource sector

This position is based in the Perth CBD at our Central Park office working a Monday to Friday roster.
