Supervisor Conveyor Roller Technician
About the role
We are looking for a Supervisor Technical Mechanical to work closely with our key stakeholder to offer support and drive improvement projects to create a safe and reliable environment for our bauxite material handling fixed plant at Rio Tinto Gove Operations. The fixed plant operation utilises a variety of critical and complex machinery, which need to be maintained and managed, in order to ensure a stable operation.
About you
This role is a great opportunity for a highly organised, self-motivated and self-lead team member to become the subject matter expert with all aspects of mechanical maintenance across our bauxite fixed plant operation. Relying heavily on your stakeholder engagement skills, you will be able to effectively communicate to all levels in the business, from operator maintainer through to onsite and offsite management teams. This role will play a critical part in driving improving projects across the operations to ensure that fixed plant operates in a safe and reliable condition.

Working and reporting directly to the Mechanical Maintenance Superintendent, you will be:
- Working with a positive and inclusive team who truly believe in the Rio Tinto values of SAFETY, TEAMWORK, RESPECT, INTEGRITY and EXCELLENCE.
- Work side by side with key stakeholders to support and drive day to day management of conveyor rollers and also implementing forward thinking improvement projects.
- Supervising and leading contracting partners to execute conveyor roller maintenance across RTAG operations.
- Participate in safety related time in field, such as but not limited to morning toolbox, safety interactions, work place audits and critical risk verification.
- Play a critical role in executing shutdown related roller maintenance activities during planned maintenance shutdowns.
What you will need for this role
To succeed in this role, you will be/have:
- A strong commitment towards safety be a highly resourceful self-lead team member who wants to be the best they can be.
- Experience with SAP, Microsoft office and Microsoft Project.
- Interpret data and build/provide reports to key stakeholders.
- Interpret drawings, procedures and standards to ensure that work is completed to meet/exceed Rio Tinto standards.
- Proven experience in supervising a team in a heavy industrial environment.
- Proven examples of delivering maintenance work safely, timely and to a high degree of quality.
- A 'C' class driver's license
- A "FL" forklift high risk work license
It will also be highly desirable, though not essential if you have:
- Mechanical Trade Cert Mechanical Fitter or Boiler Maker.
- Dogman/Riggers HRWL
- A "HR" class driver license
