We are looking for a motivated and engaging people leader to join our team in the role of Superintendent Facilities Operations, within the Facilities Division of Rio Tinto Iron Ore.

This is a great opportunity to demonstrate your ability to engage, connect and positively influence key stakeholders at all organizational levels, as this will play a critical part to the effectiveness in this role.

Reporting to the Manager Facilities Operations and working in a challenging and exciting environment within our Facilities Operations team, key accountabilities of this role includes:
  • Provide leadership, development and support to a team of dedicated advisors; enabling them to effectively manage and coach the relevant service provider and ensuring those who use the facilities have a comfortable and safe experience
  • Be a valued partner as you build close relationships with our multiple stakeholders to deliver focussed solutions
  • Work alongside our contract partner to build maturity as well as heavily interfacing with the operational leadership teams to continue to drive improved outcomes.
  • Provide site specific safety support and contract management of IFMS.
  • Provide site-based management and problem solving of our site construction and operations villages.

Where you'll be working

The Facilities Division provides warehouse, flight and accommodation booking, village, town, and aerodrome services to all Iron Ore mine sites and townships throughout the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The management of the town, village and aerodrome services are facilitated through a long-term contract partnership, with the facilities team supporting to maintain alignment and quality across the portfolio.

This role is for applicants residing in or willing to permanently relocate to Western Australia. Rio Tinto offers Fly in and fly out options from Perth, our regional FIFO hubs and the opportunity to live in our residential towns where applicable.
