We are looking for a Geoscientific Systems & Data Specialist who will join the newly-formed Productivity Team to deliver and administer quality geoscientific data repositories and information management systems to support exploration teams in the discovery process. The Specialist will provide specialist advice on business requirements, current systems, data and information management and related practices, issues, and customs to assist in the development and implementation of regional and global IS&T and D&IM strategies, projects, policies, practices and initiatives.

This role supports the Principal Advisor Productivity in the newly formed D&IM Productivity team tasked with

§ Identifying and implementing productivity improvements in how RTX create, manage and consume data, with a geoscience focus. This will include removal of bottlenecks, process improvement, automation etc.

§ Administer and support content management for systems within the productivity umbrella (including tenure management and competitor intelligence).

§ Prioritise and on-board new tools required by RTX to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

§ Onboard and leverage external partners to provide development assistance and outsourced quality support.



Reporting to the Principal Advisor Productivity, you will:

· Engage with geoscientific, managerial and support staff to understand business requirements and ensure that systems, services and content provided are relevant and timely and to identify and action improvement opportunities. Provide guidance on using systems, managing information and accessing data.

· Identify potential areas of efficiency and effectiveness in the development and delivery of data and information

· Develop and implement fit-for-purpose geoscientific systems and data management solutions to support regional exploration teams in the discovery process and manage these over time to ensure solutions are sustainable and responsive to changing needs.

· Establish and administer policies and procedures to ensure RTX exploration data, information and documents are captured from internal and external sources in a timely manner, are well managed through their life cycle, are readily accessible via secure means to all RTX stakeholders.

· Work closely with the regional and global teams to implement standards, ensure compliance and promulgate best practice as business as usual.

· Ensure that consistent and systematic metadata are attached to exploration data, information and documents, and work with the Principal Advisor Productivity to ensure that business classification schemes and metadata tables are kept up to date and relevant.

· Promote the deployment of standard geoscientific applications and data management solutions across RTX globally to establish best practice standards and gain economies of scale.

· Work with the Principal Advisor Productivity to train exploration and support teams in systems, data and information management practices, policies and processes.

· Assist the teams to achieve and maintain compliance with the Information Management Policy (IMP) and the Information Security Management Policy (ISMP).

· Provide specialist research support to staff to support RTX activities as required.

· Plan and conduct work in accordance with all HSEC and compliance policies by setting and monitoring objectives to ensure standards are met and anticipating and managing risks.



What you'll bring

· A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team

· University degree in geosciences, earth sciences and/or IS&T are desirable

· Advanced technical skills including administering geoscience database systems, GIS and experience scripting solutions via SQL ± Python ± R

· Knowledge of the Office365 environment particularly the Power platform (PowerBI, PowerApps) or similar automation and data visualisation technologies would be desirable

· Advanced skills in managing and maintaining information systems, data and repositories to locate, extract and collate information and data from disparate systems into required information packages

· Not essential but experience in tenure management with knowledge of Trimble LandFolio® is desirable

· An appreciation of and/or experience in an earth sciences, mineral exploration and/or relevant business with an understanding of the dynamics of the business and implications for providing systems, information management and data solutions and services.

· Depth and breadth of technical knowledge in systems and data to provide guidance to stakeholder teams.

· Proven ability to work collaboratively with a range of senior leaders, professional and technical staff to achieve customer focused outcomes through the sharing of expertise, skills and technical capability.

· Fluent in English with additional language skills desirable.
