The role of Integrated Trading is to enhance our commercial abilities in an agile structure that will capture additional value through effective management of market risks, and from optionality in our physical assets and contract portfolio.

About the role
As part of its ongoing commercial strategy, RTC has established a trading division. The role of Integrated Trading is to enhance our commercial abilities in an agile structure that will capture additional value through effective management of market risks, and from optionality in our physical assets and contract portfolio.
- Maximise the value of Rio Tinto's physical flows by placing our products optimally
- Optimise our portfolio and capture additional margin from the value chain
- Work with our assets to determine optimal products and volume to produce and sell
The Principal Advisor, Quantitative Analyst main responsibilities will include
- Validate 3rd party pricing and risk models for physical base metals and derivatives.
- Build new pricing models for bespoke market and credit risk systems.
- Work with trading market analysts and traders to develop forecasting models and back-test trading strategies.
- Work with Product Control and Market Risk to support and enhance existing systems
About you
- Master's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. finance, financial engineering, maths, statistics, etc)
- Minimum 3 years of working experience as a Quantitative Analyst.
- Proficient in Python and working with databases like SQL Server.
- Knowledge of Data Science techniques will be a plus.
- Experience in time-series forecasting, anomaly detection, user categorization will be advantageous.
- A commodities background is an advantage but not essential.
- Good communication skills, ability to articulate technical concepts and drive discussions with teams.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-pace environment.
