We are looking for a Specialist Advanced Process Control to support and enhance a range of process control systems and applications at the Refinery.

Reporting to the Superintendent - Process Control, and working in a diverse team within technical department, you will:
  • Lead the design and implementation of Advanced Process Control optimisation and improvement projects, with a focus on low cost, low capital and cumulative gains.
  • Coach and train Process Control Engineers and Process Engineers in APC methodologies, dynamic process modelling and numeric analysis techniques.
  • Lead the transfer of knowledge related to APC to Control Room Operators to ensure APC applications and systems are effective, sustainable and delivering value.
  • Monitor and manage APC Applications and Strategies and associated Key Performance Indicators.
  • Develop and maintain APC Engineering Standards and governance.

What you will bring:
  • Tertiary qualification in engineering, Chemical, Process or Electrical with a solid background in design and implementation of Advanced Process Control applications and strategies.
  • Experience in justification, development and scoping of Multivariable Predictive Control (MPC) and inferential soft sensor applications.
  • Implementation of Advanced Control applications in Honeywell Profit Suite Systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively, influence and build solid working relationships.

It will also be beneficial if you have:
  • Relevant operational Process Control optimisation experience preferably within Alumina, minerals processing, oil and gas or chemical production.
  • Exposure to a broad range of IOT technologies and systems.
  • Experience in data science.
  • Experience working with Plant Simulation Software and Honeywell DCS.
