About the role

We are looking for a Superintendent Site Services to strategically lead the Greater Hope Downs Site Services team to safely maintain our mine dewatering and site infrastructure.

You will be responsible for mine dewatering, building and infrastructure maintenance and road maintenance for the Greater Hope Downs Operations spanning across Hope Downs 1 and Hope Downs 4.

Reporting to the GHD MEM Manager and working in a challenging and exciting environment you will be:
  • Demonstrating a personal commitment and passion for safety and be part of our journey towards a truly interdependent safety culture.
  • An inspirational and engaging leader, role model and coach to lead and develop the Site Services team to become amongst the best in the world.
  • Managing critical community and environmental impacts associated with our extensive dewatering and infrastructure network.
  • Deploying a long-term strategic mine dewatering plan to ensure timely dewatering of mining areas.
  • Deploying asset management best practice to optimise equipment reliability and cost.
  • Responsible for the planning, scheduling and execution of maintenance.
  • Fostering a culture of continuous improvement and supporting the team in the implementation of improvement initiatives.
  • Developing, monitoring and controlling approved budget to deliver cost effective services that meet the business needs.
  • Engaging and collaborating with operational and other key stakeholders.

In addition to the above, this role will provide regular site leadership coverage and support all departments across site offering the successful candidate exposure to a variety of work fronts.

  • Previous leadership experience at a maintenance superintendent level
  • Previous experience in mine dewatering, water extraction and water distribution networks, road maintenance, facilities maintenance
  • Solid understanding of electrical maintenance, including statutory obligations
  • Applicable Trade Certificate preferably in electrical, or an engineering degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
  • A current Australian driver's license

Located north-west of Newman, Greater Hope Downs is a joint venture managed and operated by Rio Tinto, consisting of the Hope Downs 1 and Hope Downs 4 operations.
