We are looking for a Business Support Administrator to provide a range of human resource data management services including administration, reporting, workforce movements, and providing payroll support to employees, line leaders and human resources.

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager and working a Monday to Friday schedule, you will be:
  • Working safely in accordance with Rio Tinto health, environmental, safety and community standards actively leading and promoting our "Zero harm" culture;
  • Providing support to the human resources team with ongoing data and reporting activities, labour relations, and special projects as needed;
  • Supporting queries of a transactional and administrative nature for the human resources team, including processing of seniority-based workforce movements;
  • Utilizing human resource information systems to resolve queries, and supporting the resolution to system issues that may arise;
  • Managing escalations pertaining to payroll as necessary;
  • Maintaining organized and accurate records and handling sensitive information with care;
  • Performing other administrative duties for the human resources team.

What you'll bring
  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team;
  • A minimum of a College diploma or university degree in a relevant field (i.e.: administration, business, human resources, etc.) or an equivalent work experience that provides knowledge and exposure to the relevant topics, theories, and principles;
  • At least 3 years of office administration experience;
  • Payroll processing experience ideally in a unionized environment;
  • Effective communication with stakeholders, including the ability to diffuse conflict and maintain professionalism in stressful situations;
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Strong skills in prioritization, planning, multi-tasking, and time management;
  • Ability to be entrusted with confidential and sensitive employee data and documentation;
  • SAP experience is an asset.
