The purpose of the role is to support IOC's Rio Tinto Safe Production System (RTSPS), a Rio Tinto wide initiative. The role will deliver on change management including communication support for the programme and at initiative level if required. The role is critical for developing, executing and governing the key change deliverables to sustainability.

What the role entails

The role will report through to IOC RTSPS Site Lead. you will:
  • Develop, enact and maintain the communications, change and engagement strategy to:
    • Effectively communicate with internal stakeholders to ensure awareness, understanding and engagement
    • Able to develop change and impact assessments
    • Engage with the workforce to realise the objectives of this critical initiative.
    • Keeps abreast of Best Practice methodology and central resource tools and templates, utilises it in work activities and promotes its use within the company.
    • Manage the co-ordination and development of engagement packages to all key stakeholders including senior leadership team.
    • Scheduling and governance of programme engagement sessions.
    • Demonstrated experience at program change level driving a cultural shifts.
    • Demonstrated experience as a strong communicator, influencer, planner with analytical capability.
    • Ensure a smooth transitions of the RTSPS deployment from phase to phase across the whole value chain of the IOC Operations.
    • Training and Communications Management.
    • Progress reporting

To be considered for this role, you will have:
  • 5 years in change management or related field
  • Change management experience within a project oriented environment.
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in a related discipline or suitable experience.
  • Superb communication and change management skills.
  • Experience in coordination of multiple priorities with various stakeholders.

Asset
  • French proficiency is an asset
  • Practical understanding of lean, six sigma or continuous improvement concepts.

We are a leading North American producer and exporter of premium iron ore pellets and high-grade concentrate with average iron grades greater than 66%. With a team of over 2,400 employees, IOC is committed to providing value and continuity for our customers, employees, communities and shareholders through our unique mine to port approach, taking advantage of our full integration and wholly owned infrastructure to deliver our high-quality concentrate and pellets to our customers across the globe.

IOC's operations include a mine with five operational pits, a concentrator and a pelletizing plant located near Labrador City in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
