We are looking for an enthusiastic and high performing Analyst HME Fleet Strategy to join our dynamic team at the Operations Centre working a family friendly Monday to Friday roster. You will have cutting edge technology at your fingertips, with the support of the brightest minds in the industry.

Supporting the delivery of quarterly fleet plans for Rio Tinto Iron Ore's (RTIO) heavy mobile equipment (HME), this role provides key insights and information on Load & Haul and ancillary capacity, plan demand, plan-to-plan changes, and opportunities to enhance RTIO HME's fleet productivity.

Reporting to the Principal HME Fleet Strategy & Planning and working in a challenging and exciting environment within the HME Engineering department, you will
  • Follow and implement the Load & Haul Fleet Strategy
  • Translate mine plans into Quarterly HME Fleet plans
  • Build and communicate relocation of new HME delivery plans
  • Compile annual replacement fleet plans based on equipment useful life limits (UWL)
  • Identify and facilitate life extension/rebuild opportunities based on current condition and projected maintenance cost
  • Review options analysis, business case and CEA development for fleet procurement
  • Syndicate and communicate updates to HME fleet plans across key stakeholders

What you'll bring
  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering (desirable)
  • Experience working in Open Cut mine sites
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Analytical Mindset with a problem-solving aptitude
  • Highly proficient level in computer literacy including the Microsoft Office Suite, Office 365, Microsoft Project.
  • Databases user (i.e., SAP, SQL, ORDW)
  • Advanced level in Data Analysis tools (Power BI)

Where you'll be working

Our integrated iron ore network is supported by our Operations Centre (OC) in Perth, a state-of-the-art facility that enables all the autonomous trucks, trains and drills at our mines, ports and rail systems to be operated from a single location. The Centre incorporates visualisation and collaboration tools to provide real-time information across our demand chain and allows us to optimise our mining, maintenance and logistic activities across the Pilbara in a way never before possible. Located near the Perth domestic airport, the OC operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to coordinate our integrated network of mines, rail, and ports from 1,500km away.
