The Opportunity

We are looking for a Haul Truck Operator to join the Kennecott Utah Copper team and contribute to safe and efficient mining operations.

Rio Tinto Kennecott is a fully integrated mining operation located just outside Salt Lake City, Utah, US. Kennecott is a wholly owned subsidiary of Rio Tinto. For more than 110 years, Kennecott has been mining and processing minerals from the rich orebody of the Bingham Canyon Mine. Kennecott is a strong economic driver and strives to be a valuable community partner through strategic partnerships, charitable giving and sustainable development practices

What the role entails

This role is a great opportunity to further your career in one of the world's leading open pit mining operations. Reporting to the Supervisor - Operations, you will be:

· Actively engaging with employees in discussions and initiatives that keep everyone safe and promote the "Zero Harm" safety culture

· Receiving instructions from Supervisors and other leaders related to operating or controlling assigned equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures

· Observing and inspecting equipment, material, gauges and indicators and making adjustments as indicated

What you will need for this role

To succeed in this role, you will have:

· A high school diploma or GED

· Ability to work rotating 12 hour shifts (Both days and nights)

· A constant commitment to approaching tasks safely and intelligently

It will also be beneficial if you have:

· A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

· Prior work experience in a mining setting
