About the role

We're looking for experienced Signals Technicians to safely maintain and improve our rail signalling asset which includes the world's first autonomous heavy haul system, Autohaul.

With roles in Karratha, Tom Price and Gudai-Darri we have a lifestyle and roster to suit you, with the Karratha roles (FIFO and residential) offering 4 days, 4 nights, 6 off roster; and Tom Price and Gudai-Darri (FIFO) offering an 8 day on, 6 days off, 7 nights on 7 days off roster.

Reporting to the Signals Supervisor off, you will:
  • Efficiently carry out planned maintenance and inspections of train control signalling and associated communications to provide safe and reliable operation of the railway.
  • Safely support the Rail Network Renewal activities.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of improvement projects and propose improvements to maintenance processes.
  • Communicate regularly with key stakeholders including Train Control, Rail operations, and Engineering Support regarding the signalling system performance.
  • Identify faults and implement permanent solutions.

What You'll Bring

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
  • A commitment to the safety and wellbeing of yourself and your team
  • A Grade WA Electrical License (or equivalent)
  • Certificate IV in Rail Signalling
  • Current Manual 'C' Class Driver's License
  • Experience in Rail Signalling
  • Excellent communications skills; and proven ability to interact with all levels of personnel.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety procedures and systems

It will also be beneficial if you have:
  • Vital / Radio / IP Communications knowledge
  • Knowledge of relevant computer programs including SAP

Where you will be working

Our privately owned and operated rail network is an essential part of our integrated production process and services our 16 mines across the Pilbara via 1,800km of track. With depots located at Tom Price, Dampier (7 Mile), West Angelas and Gudai-Darri each train is operated by our state of the art AutoHaul system and comprises of three locomotives and 240 ore cars stretching to approximately 2.7 kilometres in length with over 40 trains operating per day. We are also applying and adapting technology to improve safety and productivity across our rail network and value input from our employees to improve our asset and the way we operate.
