About the role:

We are looking for a Principal Advisor / Team Lead - Solution Architecture who will define and manage solution design activities across a large portfolio. This includes building the internal solution architecture team capabilities, implementing methods, processes and controls frameworks for appropriate resource allocation/ demand and quality. You will play a hands-on role in delivering solution designs, whilst liaising with key stakeholders to develop a solid understanding of how the business is currently operating and its future goals.

Reporting to the Manager Design and Engineering, you will be working in a collaborative and exciting environment within our Information Technology project delivery team.

As the Principal Advisor/Team Lead - Solution Architect you will:
  • Lead, coach, develop and nurture the local APAC-west Solution Architecture team.
  • Manage resource demand for solution architect skillsets across APAC-W portfolio and drive allocation/recruitment to fulfil the demand pipeline.
  • Act as an SME for solution design, lead and expand the capabilities of the team of solution architects.
  • Resolve conflict and portfolio allocation issues
  • Develop best practices, documents, and templates for the SA practice.
  • Ensure compliance with IS&T standards and guidelines relating to the documentation/ development of project artefacts, and appropriate procurement assessments are being conducted aligned to portfolio governance.
  • Work with various portfolio teams and lead stakeholder engagement activities to define project objectives and ensure resource demand and allocation is managed upfront and ahead of time.

What you'll bring:
  • Commitment to safety, yourself, and the team.
  • Several years of progressive technical experience as solution architect, software and/or systems engineer, or technical consultant with experience in leading a large and diverse team
  • Experience migrating legacy systems to modern application, Cloud computing and similar technologies.
  • Experience with IT & OT platforms (PCN, IoT, etc)
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, change management, negotiation and communication skills including the ability to influence stakeholders of all levels and manage 3rd party vendors.
  • Demonstrated experience successfully delivering technical and functional documentation, leading stakeholder workshops in Waterfall, Agile and DevOps environments.
  • Knowing the nuances of solution design in Projects, Products and Platforms way of working would be desirable.
  • An appreciation of other skillsets such as Business Architecture and Platforms Engineering as you would be working closely with these cross functional teams across the enterprise.
