Maintenance Controller - Electrical

About the role

We are looking for a Maintenance Controller to supervise, co-ordinate and execute planned and/or unscheduled maintenance work within designated areas.

Reporting to the Plant Engineer, you will:
  • Liaise with supervisors to identify maintenance and service needs and coordinate general maintenance work toward ensuring production targets are met.
  • Assist with failure root cause analyses and attend to unplanned maintenance work and ensure optimum job turnaround time / delivery time.
  • Perform fair and reasonable tasks related to the job and working environment, at the discretion of the Plant Engineer.
  • Supervise and control the activities, standards of performance and behavior of staff to ensure that the correct procedures are followed.
  • Manage resources in terms of own staff, labor hiring and available equipment and ensure training and development of subordinates to optimize performance.
  • Prepare, control and maintain section budget by forecasting operating costs and monitor monthly expenditure of section.
  • Maintain and improve safety, health and environmental standards and practices and review, update and document task lists every six months.
  • Conduct risk assessments and continuous improvement projects and render an efficient service to customers

About you

To succeed in this role, you will have:
  • Grade 12 with pure Mathematics & Physical Science / N3
  • N5 Engineering Qualification (Advantageous)
  • Electrical Trade Test
  • South African Driver's License (Attach a valid License)
  • Supervisor Role experience for at least 3 Years
  • Supervisory- and/or Safety training (advantageous)
  • 5 year's heavy / mining industry / Maintenance Planning Systems experience
  • General knowledge of plant-related equipment.
  • Mechanically / Electrically - minded
