About the role

We are looking for a Principal level Risk Business Partner for the Perth Risk Hub supporting the Iron Ore Product Group as well as collaborating with team members from our Global Centres of Excellence (CoEs) and Areas of Expertise (AoEs), along with other parts of our business as required.

This role is a great opportunity to partner with the business (Operations and Functions) to support leaders as well as risk and control owners to apply a risk based approach to their decision analysis and core business processes such as strategy, business case development, planning and operational management. Reporting to the Risk - Perth Hub Lead, you will be:
  • Providing risk facilitation, analysis and reporting services
  • Partnering, providing leadership, coaching and mentoring with line leaders and the business to embed risk management into Rio Tinto's core business processes and decision making in pursuit of both creating and protecting value
  • Providing risk management advice to support operations, functions and projects to consider complex problems through a risk lens
  • Applying qualitative and quantitative risk analysis techniques to help inform complex problems
  • Be a pivotal interface between the Iron Ore Product Group and global functional teams with regards to advancing capability in the risk process
  • Implementing and supporting initiatives to drive effective consideration of risk & uncertainty in core decision making processes within area of accountability

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
  • Strong business acumen, and have worked in similar industries
  • Demonstrated collaboration, facilitation and influencing skills at senior management levels
  • Tertiary qualifications
  • Well developed analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience in applying risk in strategic business planning and projects using qualitative risk analysis techniques (quantitative skills desirable)
  • High levels of initiative and demonstrated experience working with a broad stakeholder group
  • Ideally 5 plus years in an equivalent role
