About the Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a full-time Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) Specialist to join our team. This role can follow either in-office (Toronto), fully remote, or a hybrid work model, however, the successful candidate must be legally authorized to work within Canada.

Reporting to the Director of Talent Management, the IDEA Specialist will work collaboratively across Centerra Gold's internal organization to advance IDEA within the organization.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Executing items on the global IDEA action plan to completion, against agreed-upon timelines and budget
  • Monitoring and managing the organizational budget for IDEA initiatives
  • Serving as a liaison for the regional IDEA committees to provide guidance and support, as well as providing reports on progress
  • Overseeing employee resource groups within the organization to support the creation of an inclusive work environment
  • Developing impactful IDEA-related communications (e.g., IDEA newsletters, cultural and heritage celebrations, recognized international days, holidays and celebrations, etc.) and managing communication channels
  • Planning and holding various inclusion events or celebrations within the organization
  • Identifying priority issues/topics to be addressed with education/training (e.g., equitable hiring practices, allyship in the workplace, etc.)
  • Developing a repository of IDEA-related resources and assisting in the development of training content where appropriate
  • Establishing an IDEA dashboard, to monitor, measure, and report on KPIs and metrics to assess the success of IDEA initiatives
  • Conducting research and data collection for reporting and presentations, that assess and advise on progress and opportunities for further improvement
  • Staying informed on industry-wide IDEA best practices, and developing policies, practices, and initiatives that reflect them
  • Serving as a subject-matter expert on IDEA issues, including providing advice and training to managers and employees

About You

To qualify, you will need 5 years of work experience in a capacity that led and/or directly supported diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility programs, projects, and initiatives. You must also have post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., Human Resources, Sociology, Communications, Education, Business Administration, Law, etc.)

The following skills or experience will be critical to successfully performing this role:
  • IDEA concepts, best practices, standards, techniques, tools, support, and stakeholder management
  • Training, development, and facilitation of diversity and inclusion training sessions
  • Management of internal and external partnerships with colleagues, vendors, and the community
  • Change management principles to bring about change with an emphasis on diversity and inclusion
  • Project management experience involving multiple stakeholders
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Data analysis, KPI development, and reporting
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Developing, working with, or leading ERGs (asset)
