About Mount Milligan Mine

Located approximately 155 kilometres northwest of Prince George in central BC, the Mount Milligan Mine is a conventional truck-shovel open-pit copper and gold mine and concentrator with a 60,000 tpd capacity copper flotation processing plant.

Mount Milligan operates with comfortable camp accommodations equipped with private washrooms, TV, Wi-Fi, an onsite gym, and other recreational activities. Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region.

Mount Milligan promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.

About the Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a full-time Mill Project Manager to join our Mount Milligan Mine operations site. This is a camp-based position, with a rotation of 14 days on / 14 days off, with a 12-hour daily schedule.

Reporting to the Mill Manager, the Mill Project Manager will be responsible for managing and supporting all capital projects to the mill operations group .

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Managing all mill capital projects and small improvement projects related to construction full-cycle
  • Providing input into all engineering phases of the projects, in collaboration with site engineers and stakeholders
  • Collaborating with procurement team to create tender packages and other documents
  • Coordinating with contractors on delivery of products and services, schedules, and quality completion of job tasks
  • Leading the Mill Management of Change (MOC) process and coordinating small projects
  • Mentoring team technical staff on project management skills
  • Providing input and guidance on project budgeting and costing


About You

To qualify for the Mill Project Manager role, you must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering or industrial construction, along with a class 5 driver's license.

The following will be critical to successfully performing this role:
  • Strong focus on quality assurance and quality control
  • Experience in working with engineering groups and able to interpret engineering drawings
  • Familiarity with procurement in assembling procurement packages
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising contractors during project execution
  • Show knowledge of relevant codes and standards to abide by during projects
  • Industrial experience and a demonstrated ability to work safely
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with MS Office suite
  • Excellent organizational, and team-building skills
  • Proven ability to analyze complex problems, prioritize issues, and develop timely and cost-effective solutions
