About the Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a full-time Senior Financial Analyst to join our corporate headquarters on a hybrid work model in Toronto, ON.

Reporting to the Manager of Financial Reporting, the Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for preparing monthly consolidation results, producing a monthly management report of operations, creating quarterly external financial reports, as well as implementing and improving system and process changes within the Company's finance function.

Your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Interfacing with internal management and employees at all levels of the Company, and acting as the main liaison with external auditors
  • Owning the monthly consolidation process, and leading in the preparation of quarterly consolidated financial statements
  • Participating in the Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A), and providing recommendations for improvement
  • Assisting with the review of monthly journal entries for corporate entities, as prepared by the Senior Corporate Accountant
  • Leading the implementation and improvement of systems, processes, procedures, and internal controls within the Company's finance function
  • Working with the Internal Audit to enhance the state of internal controls framework to ensure reliability and effectiveness of financial systems and controls compliance with the SOX section 404
  • Proactively finding solutions for emerging issues, evolving regulatory requirements, and changes to financial reporting systems

About You

To qualify, you must have a Professional Accounting Designation (CPA, CFA, or similar). You must also have at least 4 years of professional experience as an Accountant, ideally working in the mining industry, or Big 4 experience in auditing mining companies.

The ideal candidate will also possess the following:
  • Comprehensive understanding of International Fiancial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and SOX Section 404
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft products, including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
  • Experience with Oracle/SAP/Workiva (asset)
  • Strong writing skills and a good understanding of financial statement and MD&A disclosure requirements
  • Ability to create constructive relationships with varying personalities inside and outside the Company, including with individuals in foreign operations
  • Focused on continuous improvement, and dedicated to looking for new solutions and executing on ideas

Above all, you must be highly organized and detail oriented, with the ability to efficiently work with minimal supervision, while also being a team player.
