Supervisor - Mine Support
Location: Stillwater Mine
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to coordination of work assignments and daily goals; ensuring safe and economical operating procedures and daily expectations of crew activities, communicating production/development plans, company goals and objectives to employees; coordinating and conducting work area inspections and safety meetings; interfacing with maintenance on equipment requirements in order to minimize disruptions to production; collecting and accurately reporting data from a variety of sources; advising on the selection of prospective employees; authorizing and delivering employee time cards to payroll; monitor, evaluate and document employee performance; and authorizing employee vacation requests.

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High school diploma and 1-2 years of specialized training in mine operations or a related field, and 5-7 years of related work experience; or Bachelor's degree in mining or related field and 1-2 years related work experience
- Working knowledge of underground mining operations including safety, production, maintenance, economics, equipment, and staff utilization
- Leadership qualities including character, teamwork, communication, business sense and vision
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Understanding of health, safety, MSHA, and environmental regulations
- Understanding of underground mining methods and terminology
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with and train employees on various assignments/equipment
- Must meet and maintain qualifications for working with explosives per the Safe Explosives Act.
