Maintenance Reliability Engineer

Location: East Boulder - McLeod, MT (Greater Big Timber Area)
POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Reliability Engineer guides the activities of the Mobile Maintenance Team to deliver a proactive maintenance program by leading the team in developing and executing maintenance strategies following logic based systems. They will guide the team to ensure reactive maintenance is reduced, preventative and planned maintenance is completed on time and drive continuous improvement to reduce equipment down time.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and maintain standard procedures and system requirements for uniformity and completeness of data.
  • Work in partnership with the Operations and Mine Planning Teams in the development and introduction of new equipment, technologies and strategies.
  • Investigate new technologies and applicable condition monitoring techniques that could help identify equipment problems.
  • Develop accurate information collection processes to support planning and reliability
  • Drive continuous improvement in systems that lead the team's effort in the successful completion of routine maintenance tasks.
  • Apply and utilize analysis skills in the determination of root causes, identify maintenance trends and predictive maintenance requirements.
  • Identify and develop equipment life cycle cost models that will minimize equipment-operating costs by maximizing scheduled maintenance and minimizing unscheduled repairs and provide forecasting for appropriate rebuild/replace opportunities .
  • Investigate and evaluate new equipment, products, tools and procedures that will lower costs and increase the maintenance departments' effectiveness.

Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent or similar from a recognized institution of higher learning. Minimum of five years' experience in a leadership role; Planner, Supervisor or Lead man experience acceptable.
  • Strong ability to coach and mentor others, both peers and subordinates.
  • Proficiency in maintenance systems, cost management and productivity enhancement.
  • Experience with reliability based, proactive maintenance systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in the preparation of operating and capital budgets.
  • Leadership qualities including: character, teamwork, communication, business sense, and vision
  • Strong computer skills including Word, Excel and Power Point
