Location: Stillwater Mine Nye, MT

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Electrical and Communications Maintenance Planner is a direct report to the Electrical Senior Supervisor and is responsible for planning and assembling all appropriate documentation, work instructions, and BOMs needed to schedule and execute the work order process.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Maintain work order status from creation to closure.
  • Apply record keeping notes and codes to track key information including damage, abuse, normal wear, etc.
  • Plan preventive maintenance and repairs utilizing the manpower and talent supplied by the Electrical Senior Supervisor.
  • Ensure the correct parts are procured and staged for scheduled preventive, predictive maintenance, and backlog repairs.
  • Establish preventive maintenance criteria and create work orders for equipment, modify preventive maintenance as needed, ensure all procedures, parts list, and calibration sheets are an integral part of the work order packages.
  • Establish tracking mechanisms and monitor parts usage trends.
  • Generate purchase requisitions. Assure purchase requisitions use correct account coding and are posted to the appropriate work orders.
  • Work closely with purchasing and warehousing to ensure stock availability, validate min/max quantities, and manage inventory additions and deletions.
  • Prepare "scope of work" for component rebuilds and ensure quote for repairs from the vendor matches the scope of work requested.
  • Ensure MSHA, Health and Safety Regulations, SOPs and best practice requirements are met in all planned work packages.
  • Assist in establishing programs such as NDT, vibration, and system analyzing to help improve equipment availability.
  • Attend weekly Development and Operations Priority Meetings to set electrical installation priorities to meet the mine plan.
  • Maintain Work Order Backlogs from information gathered from Work Requests, PM Check Sheets, periodic inspections, and direct requests from operations and support groups.
  • Initiate Work Orders for planned work requested in weekly planning meetings.
  • Close out all completed W/O's.
  • Coordinate with other planners on the same job plan.
  • Ensure all information needed to support the planning process and creation of job packages are complete, accurate and detailed.
  • Communicate specific job plans and feedback information to other planners where it would be useful.
  • Provide information to update drawings, parts list, job steps, etc. as the job is complete.
  • Look for opportunities for continuous improvement in maintenance practices to reduce cost and downtime.


LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Electrical Planner has no supervisory responsibilities but, the candidate exhibits and strives to enhance personal growth in those characteristics listed in the Sibanye-Stillwater "Leadership Qualities Matrix"

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

HS diploma or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

CERTIFICATES & LICENSES:

Valid driver's license.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Four to eight years in mechanical/electrical planning or another related field.
  • Mining industry electrical and mechanical fixed plant equipment planning and scheduling experience preferred.

SKILLS:

  • Critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Effective written, verbal, and communication skills to satisfy training, safety, and electronic message transmission policies of the company.
  • Demonstrated computer skills in a Windows environment with experience in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project (or similar planning program), and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical and recordkeeping skills.
