Analyst Finance Business Partnership - South32, Mamatwan Mine

POSITION SYNOPSIS:

• South32 are seeking a motivated candidate for a Business Partner - Finance at our Hotazel operations. In this role, you will support the operation through a customer focused approach for the provision of analysis, explanation and advice on business options to deliver the highest value outcomes. This role reports into the Finance Lead and will be based at Hotazel.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Serious contenders will have a Degree in Accountancy (CA / CPA / CIMA or equivalent) with relevant finance exposure with a minimum of 4 years' experience in this relevant field.
• Experience in a similar business-partnering role with credible operational exposure in the Mining and/or Heavy Industry sectors is preferable.
• High level of proficiency in SAP and MS Excel is required.
• Self-reliant contributor with distinctive proficiency in finance and improvement with the ability to digest complex operational activities and communicate in simple concise language is essential;
• Stakeholder Engagement - Valued team member who has influenced solutions with internal and external stakeholders at senior management level is essential.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Works safely within the South 32 Care Strategy;
• Supporting operations with the annual budget and monthly forecasting processes, including management approvals, and influence their plans where required;
• Analysing data (costs, etc.) and identifying improvement opportunities;
• Coaching and supporting site based functional and operations personnel in finance processes and governance;
• Upskilling the commercial competencies of operational personnel - including understanding value and decision analysis;
• Understanding and communicating cost drivers and their impact on business outcomes;
• Resolving and communicating operational issues in Finance to meet business objectives;
• Ensuring site compliance to Company and Operational Standards and Procedures;
• Providing analysis and supporting on contract establishment and variations as required.
