The Opportunity

Reporting to the Principal Safety Risk & Compliance, this position is responsible for providing leadership, expertise, direction, and governance to generate value now and into the future for the Cannington operation.

This role leads the ongoing development and implementation of the OHSMS, supports the implementation of a robust safety culture and ensures safety management system processes and systems are maintained, as well as providing governance over system effectiveness

This role is a permanent position being offered on an 8/6 Monday- Monday roster. FIFO from Townsville, or Brisbane.

Accountabilities:

Primary responsibilities are but not limited to:

  • Develop, support, monitor & improve the Occupational Health and Safety Management system (OHSMS) to provide a sustainable framework for the Cannington Operation
  • Develop, support, monitor & improve the process for effective Crew Safety Rep meetings inclusive of information management in the Microsoft team's or other accessible environment
  • Establish and maintain a monthly cadence with departmental/functional leaders to provide coaching and support the operations in relation to the trends, information and focus points on the monthly report
  • Provide support and coaching to the operation for the full implementation of the Safety Road Map project
  • Support other HSERT department members as required to achieve the successful operation of the department
  • Conduct time in field activities as per the health and safety expectations matrix
  • Review and update safety and reporting standards, procedures and other documentation as required by the document control processes


Experience Required

  • Professional who has demonstrated capability in current OHS management/assurances practices
  • Ability to interact and influence key stakeholder relationships
  • Demonstrated capability in effective reporting to key relationship personnel
  • Experience in the resources industry, ideally with some operational level experience
  • Ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams in a multi-cultural and multi-national environment
  • Excellent skills in data monitoring, advanced analytics and safety and assurance process
  • Experience in managing governance and assurance processes with an emphasis on OHSMS expertise


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or other OHSMS qualification
  • Lead Auditor qualification or similar
