The Opportunity

We are looking for an Operation Services Coordinator to lead and develop the Site Services team and support efficient management of the Operations Services portfolio. As a key part of the Operation Services Leadership team, you will provide strong supervision and guidance to the Site Services Team; ensuring planning and execution of Site Services maintenance work is performed safely and efficiently. You will also lead the planning and execution of various small projects across the portfolio include at the Aerodrome, Village and Waste areas amongst others.

Reporting to the Operation Services Superintendent, this role is based in a challenging and exciting environment and leading on the frontline is one of the most important jobs in our business and comes with a large amount of responsibility. We need you to motivate, inspire and keep your people safe.

This role is a permanent position being offered on an 8/6 Monday- Monday roster. FIFO from Townsville or Brisbane or DIDO from Mt Isa

Accountabilities:

Primary responsibilities are but not limited to:

  • Providing safety leadership, improving safety culture and performance within the Site Services team, and extending to our contracting partners
  • Maintain a culture where people feel they are engaged and the S32 values of Trust, Care, Togetherness and Excellence are lived
  • Lead the planning and execution of small projects within the department, engaging various stakeholders to ensure success
  • Monitor operational budget, reporting against actual spend and participate in budget forecast
  • Support Operation Services Superintendent in ensuring all areas of the Operation Services portfolio meet all safety, quality, environmental, regulatory, and operational standards requirements
  • Conduct and participate in safety observations, safety investigations, risk assessments, inspections, reviews, and audits


Experience Required

  • Significant experience at Coordinator or equivalent level within an appropriate discipline or background
  • This role requires a resilient and self-motivated individual to interface with a broad range of stakeholder groups, displaying credibility, building trust, and influencing outcomes
  • Strong supervision skills managing employees and contractor work force
  • A proven commitment to Safety and Fitness for Work, committed to improving workplace culture through modelling and coaching positive work habits
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
  • Previous contract management experience, preferably managing Power, Waste, or other Services contracts highly advantageous
  • Experience using SAP highly advantageous
  • Computer proficient in the Microsoft office suite
