About the Role

Reporting to the Manager of Surface & Infrastructure - Appin, the purpose of the role is to provide leadership and direction for all production & maintenance activities at the WCCPP to safely achieve production, financial, reliability & availability targets.

This is a permanent full-time opportunity.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Responsibility to lead, coach and mentor the maintenance & production teams to deliver performance.
  • Define strategies to analyse performance & initiate improvement actions
  • Accountable for the safe delivery of production, product quality, maintenance activities & shutdowns
  • Accountable for overall CHPP availability and reliability to support the wider business objectives
  • Identifying and implementing critical projects to ensure ongoing success of the processing plant
  • Develop a culture of continuous improvement within the team
  • Develop and deliver the production & maintenance budgets

About You

You will naturally have a passion and commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement. In addition, you should possess:

  • Experience in Coal Handling and Preparation Plants (CHPP)
  • Tertiary Engineering qualification in a relevant field
  • Proven team management skills and experienced leadership abilities
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Contractor management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute, influence and make decisions within multi-functional teams.
  • Practical application of risk assessment; hazard identification and controls; and incident management and investigation.
  • Working knowledge of SAP is desirable
  • Excellent time management skills.

This position will be based at the West Cliff Coal Preparation Plant which is in the southern coalfields of New South Wales, near the coastal city of Wollongong and approximately 75 kilometres south and southwest of Sydney.
