The Opportunity

As a Reliability Engineer , you will be a key member of the Fixed Plant Reliability Engineering team. In this role you will apply your technical skills to support the business to make informed decisions based on cost X risk X performance. You will analyse failures to determine root causes and proactively implement maintenance regimes to prevent reoccurrences. In addition to that, you will also be involved in improvement projects looking at maximizing production of bottlenecks and/or sustainably reduce costs.

The role is a permanent position on a straight 4/3 or 4/3 4/3 8/6 roster, Fly-in/Fly-out from Townsville or Brisbane or Drive-in/Drive-out from Mount Isa. Another key aspect of this role is the balance to work on site and from home, with you spending approximately 75% of your rostered time on site and 25% working from home.

Accountabilities:

Primary responsibilities are but not limited to:

  • Visibly lead safe behavior, coaching workers in safe behaviors and routines including Workplace Interactions, TAKE5s and control management activities
  • Monitor and report on its area performance (cost, risks, performance)
  • Provide direction to maintenance, operations, and engineering on the priorities based on data
  • Perform additional appointed role duties such as Risk Owner, Control Owner or Contractor Owner
  • Accountable for timely execution of week plans for fixed plant reliability, tracked in the weekly Asset Management meeting
  • Responsible for providing data driven and sound inputs into the budget development process


Experience Required

  • Motivation with the ability to effectively communicate and influence across various levels of the business
  • Focused on business results (cost x risk x performance)
  • Exposure to Power Systems would be well regarded
  • Highly skilled in the use of qualitative reliability techniques, such as root cause analysis (Keper Tregoe, Apollo, ect.), FMEA and others
  • Computer proficient in the Microsoft office suite and MS Projects
  • Proficiency in the use of SAP with an understanding of master data requirements
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision


Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or above
  • Trade qualification with some tertiary study
