To join Boddington Bauxite Mine (BBM) and provide leadership to the Production execution sub-functions (Drill and Blast, exploration drilling, earth works contractor management and rehabilitation). Including effectively leveraging our people centric positive culture to manage the execution of production processes to achieve performance targets across safety, volume and cost.

This is offered as afull-time positionbased at the Worsley Boddington Bauxite Mine (BBM). BBM is in a fantastic region with several great country towns in the area to choose from to call home. The region is only 80 minutes South of Perth and only 60 minutes from the coast.


• Rigorously apply and continue to review South32's Risk Management policies principles, tools and investigation methodologies to ensure our people are not exposed to illness or injury.
• Ensure Production execution personnel are fully competent to work effectively and safely
• Identify and demonstrate awareness of material safety risks relevant to your area, ensure critical controls are verified, in place and risk reduction strategies are in place
• Manage contractors to ensure compliance with operating standards, procedures and work instructions.
• Allocate quality time for visual felt leadership in the field to build strong trust relationships with team members and encourage an embrace the red learning culture across all aspects of health, safety and environment.

• Lead the team of approximately 120 employees and contractors to operate the production processes and equipment safely and in accordance with the schedule, process specifications and the operations technical standards
• Build, monitor and manage the annual production budget and forecasts
• Manage the execution of the schedule to achieve established performance targets on HSEC, cost and volume.
• Drive improvement initiatives to improve productivity and plan compliance
• Participate in the weekly and monthly planning and scheduling process meetings to ensure alignment and commitment of resources and plan to the work schedule.

• Develop and mentor individual team members and promote a culture of continuous improvement and learning through encouraging crew members to participate in and add input to meetings and discussions
• Set clear performance expectations for individuals and teams, to ensure people are accountable, empowered and supported to deliver their commitments.
• Lead an improvement culture by encouraging teams to identify improvements and empower them to implement team level improvement ideas through to completion
• Commit to and promote health, safety and environmental responsibility and sustainability practices.

Skills & Competencies
• Detailed knowledge, understanding and experience related to large earth moving, drill and blasting, contractor management and budget management
• Expert knowledge pertaining to basic Health, Safety and Environmental principles and hazard identification and risk management within an industrial workplace

• Exceptional safety leadership with an ability to identify and manage risks in the workplace
• Ability to develop, coach and mentor employees to improve engagement, diversity and capability
• Demonstrated capability to successfully lead a team and proactively influence internal stakeholders

• Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills and the ability to form effective working relationships

• Clearly assigns responsibility for tasks and decisions; sets clear objectives and measures; monitors process, progress and results; designs feedback loops into work

Minimum Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in relevant engineering or geoscience discipline or ability and drive to acquire (highly desirable)
• Minimum of 5 to 8 years of production execution experience, including supervision
• Previous accountability for budgets as a department level
• Previous experience or understanding of managing large earth works contracts (+40 pieces of equipment)
• Previous experience or understanding of drill and blast processes (highly desirable)
• Demonstrated written and oral English language proficiency
• Western Australian Unrestricted Quarry Manager Certification or ability and drive to acquire (highly desirable)
