About the role

Reporting to the Superintendent Environment, you will drive continuous improvement through management of the environmental systems and reporting processes. Your ability to build strong working relationships and excellent communications skills will be vital in this role.

This is a permanent full-time position.

Key accountabilities

  • Provide technical support to the Environment Team, to ensure environment regulatory commitments are met using the compliance systems and processes
  • Undertake environmental compliance reporting
  • Plan and execute work to meet environmental regulatory commitments and internal requirements
  • Maintain compliance with existing approvals and licences, ensuring that all licences remain current, including Environment Protection Licences and Water Licences
  • Maintain ISO 14001 certification through review and auditing
  • Coordinate internal and external auditing requirements
  • Undertake analysis of environmental data to identify trends and focus resources on priority issues

To be considered for the role, you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree (Environmental Science / Engineering or similar)
  • Experience working in a similar role ideally within the Resources or Heavy Industry sectors
  • Auditing experience is highly desirable
  • Capable of working with minimal supervision and able to manage priorities
  • Ability to effectively communicate and influence internal and external stakeholders across multiple levels
  • Improvement focused - identifying leading practice and transferring knowledge

Location

This position will be based at our office in Wollongong approximately 75 kilometres south of Sydney. Flexible work options apply and can be discussed during the hiring process.
